My name is
Madeline Appoo, I am a very proud Mambu woman from Innisfail in the Tropic of
North Queensland. I am passionate about my people and culture. I left home to
come to Canberra in 1980, at the age of 17 years old, to work at the Department
of Defence and have made Canberra my home.
I have been
employed with various Indigenous companies/ organisations throughout my working
career, including; Aboriginal Hostels – Finance Officer, Winnunga Nimmityjah
Aborigional Health Service – Finance Officer/Fleet Manager, Australian
Indigenous Communication Association – Office Support Manager and the National
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers Association – Admin
Officer. I have thoroughly enjoyed my
time working at each organisation and am grateful to have had the opportunity
to meet and assist many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Australia
wide. I love experiencing and learning about the different cultures and
languages across our great nation.
I started with
Evolve FM April 2019 as a Facilities Administrator and have enjoyed my time so
far. I enjoy learning about the facilities management industry and working with
a great mob. I am looking forward to continuing my employment and journey with
Evolve.
